International age counts one year for each year passed since birth. Your age increases on your birthday.
Ages 10 and above
- • Juvenile Delinquents: Those under 14 are subject to protective dispositions under the Juvenile Act (e.g., referral to juvenile reformatories) instead of criminal punishment for offenses.
Ages 13 and above
- • Part-time Jobs & Employment: Possible with an employment permit from the Minister of Employment and Labor.
- • Sexual Offenses: Sexual relations with individuals under 16 may be punished regardless of consent. Especially, sexual relations with those under 13 are considered to lack capacity for consent and are punished more severely.
- • Personal Information Processing: Parental consent is required to collect or use personal information of children under 14.
Ages 18 and above
- • Voting Rights: Can vote in all elections, including National Assembly, Presidential, and local elections.
- • Driver's License: Can obtain a driver's license.
- • Part-time Jobs & Employment: Possible without restrictions.
- • Engagement & Marriage: Possible with parental consent.
- • Working Holiday Application: Eligible to apply until age 30.
- • Independent Legal Actions: Can perform legal actions independently, such as credit card issuance, loans, and car purchases, without parental consent.
Ages 19 and above (Adult)
- • Civil Law Adulthood: Becomes a legal adult under civil law, allowing independent legal actions free from parental authority.

Current Year Age is calculated by subtracting the birth year from the current year. Everyone gains a year when the new year begins, regardless of their birthday.
Current Year Age 7 (Elementary School Entry)

Current Year Age 18 and above
